Bridgetown: India registered a comprehensive 101-run win over Afghanistan in a Super Four match of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 at the Kensington Oval here on Thursday. Opting to bat, India piled up a challenging 212 for 2, riding on skipper Virat Kohli's brilliant unbeaten 122 off 61 balls and KL Rahul's 62 off 41 deliveries. Kohli struck 12 fours and six sixes, while Rahul hit three fours and four sixes.

In reply, Afghanistan were bowled out for 111 in 18.4 overs. Only Ibrahim Zadran (64 off 59 balls) could offer some resistance as India bowlers, led by Bhuvneshwar Kumar (5/4), shared the spoils.

With this win, India kept their semi-final hopes alive while Afghanistan's chances of reaching the last four were dented.
